Many parents know the feeling: As soon as you hit the road, your little passenger suddenly feels sick. Car sickness in toddlers is not uncommon – and can be a real challenge for both your child and you as a parent. But don't worry: With a few simple tricks, your next trip will be much more pleasant!
1. Look outside
One of the best strategies for combating nausea is to look outside! This helps your sense of balance adjust better to the movement. A simple trick: Play games like "I spy something you don't see" – this keeps your gaze on the scenery and, by the way, keeps things from getting boring.
2. Fresh air
Regular breaks for exercise in the fresh air work wonders. Especially on longer journeys, it's good to take a deep breath, stretch, and jump around a bit. This not only loosens up your stomach but also gets your circulation going.
3. Harness the power of ginger
Ginger is known to soothe the stomach and gently relieve nausea. Fresh ginger is often too strong for children, but its soothing effects can be harnessed in other ways: Our Beautiful Travel Pad contains ginger, among other ingredients, and its gentle scent unleashes its calming power—completely without side effects and perfectly suited for sensitive noses. Simply place it in our scarf or seat belt protector , and off you go!
4. Light food & cool drinks
Before your trip, your food should be easy to digest and not too fatty—so avoid fries or creamy sauces. Small snacks like bananas, rice cakes, or mild bread are good options. And don't forget to drink plenty of fluids! Cool, unsweetened drinks like water or mild herbal tea are best.
