A few thoughts on a frequently asked question
A large part of the plant world produces essential oils, which are responsible for the scent and aroma of the individual plants. They are a mixture of various biochemical compounds that are produced by the plant's metabolism.
The essential oils represent the essence, i.e. the soul, of the respective plants in their healing effects.
However, not all essential oils are suitable for babies and small children. This has been known for a long time. In particular, the oils that are very helpful and popular with adults, such as eucalyptus, menthol, (pepper)mint, thyme, camphor, but also rosemary, sage, tea tree and spruce and pine needle oils, can in rare cases be dangerous for our little ones and cause, for example, respiratory cramps.
This is especially true when concentrated or undiluted oils are used. The doctor and naturalist Paracelsus came up with the ever-valid truth: "All things are poison; only the dose determines whether a thing is not a poison."
For this reason, we do not use extracts, but only whole plants (parts of plants) or herbs. And of course, we only use plants that are completely safe for babies.
The special combination of the different herbs is of crucial importance for the effectiveness of our pads. This not only brings out the individual power of each plant, but also creates an additional synergy effect that is partly responsible for the exceptional effectiveness of our herbal pads.
