Laupheim, September 26th, 2022 - Around a year after appearing on "The Lions' Den", the Upper Swabian startup Löwenkind can be seen again at Germany's most popular start-up show on October 3rd, 2022. A look back at the past year shows how many milestones the company has achieved since then.

Not only has the team grown from a one-woman show to nine permanent employees, the logistics have also been completely outsourced. This was urgently needed because Löwenkind now has an average daily volume of 150 orders. Before the deal there were only around 30.
“Löwenkind has grown out of its infancy and I am confident that the startup can develop into a real big cat in the market,” says Dagmar Wöhrl, who has not regretted her investment in Löwenkind for a day. The startup is well on its way to becoming an established company in order to get closer to the vision of founder Simone Hilble. One day she would like Löwenkind to have its own company premises with surrounding herb beds and a company kindergarten for the employees.
The company's core product remains the lion pads. They contain herbal mixtures whose scents are activated by the child's body heat and absorbed through the respiratory tract. With the help of specially developed straps (scarves, bodysuits, shirts or pillows with an extra pocket for the pads), they are used for problems falling asleep or ailments such as colds and runny noses.
“The first purchase was made via the Löwenkind online shop on June 6th, 2018,” remembers Simone, “We have now sold over 1.3 million lion pads.” Taking part in “The Lions’ Den” was a unique experience, which Simone can only recommend to every founder. In any case, she is very grateful to now have Dagmar Wöhrl and her team at her side.
The real highlights at Löwenkind this year are the two product launches. Another lion pad, the “Zappelzwerg”, went on sale in August. It contains a finely balanced herbal mixture that promotes concentration and relieves stress for children aged 3 and over. The other new addition to the range will be the organic tea “Gut bellowed”, which will be available in the Löwenkind online shop from October 3rd, 2022. Its blend of herbs and fruits has a strengthening effect and it has a fine, tangy and fresh aroma.
Löwenkind's most important mission is to provide every child with beneficial and supportive support in their development using natural aids. The Löwenkind team therefore attaches great importance to the quality of its products.
For Simone Hilble, resting on her laurels is not an option. “Next we would like to focus more on retail and drugstores,” she says. Löwenkind is already represented in the first pharmacies, children's and baby stores as well as in some Wöhrl department stores. Now the team wants to bring the products onto the market across the board.
